Long, low and beautifully grounded, this coffee table is the kind of piece a living room is built around, and it comes with a story. It began life in Kerala, the lush southern Indian state famed for its wooden houses, its centuries-old tradition of fine timber craftsmanship, and as the heartland of Ayurveda.
This piece was once a droni, a traditional Ayurvedic massage table. Often carved from a single length of timber, a droni has a gently raised edge to hold the warm herbal oils used in treatment, channelling them to one end. After years of use in healing and restoration, it has been given a second life as a coffee table, with all the character, patina and gentle wear that only genuine age can bring.
The look is simple and clean-lined, with hand-carved detailing that rewards a closer look. Left in its natural finish, the teak shows off its warm, honeyed grain, and it will sit happily in anything from a relaxed country homestead to a pared-back city apartment. At a generous 187 cm long, there's room for books, candles, a platter of snacks and still a spot for your feet (we won't tell).
Crafted from reclaimed and recycled teak, one of the hardest-working timbers around. Naturally dense and oily, it resists moisture, insects and warping — a piece made to last for generations and to be handed down rather than replaced.

We ship Australia wide and use Australia Post Parcel, unless Express Post shipping has been selected. Please allow 2–3 working days for delivery to metropolitan areas for orders placed within business hours. For regional locations, WA and sale orders, please allow up to 3–10 working days.
