Product Description

Handmade from a genuine vintage teak door and iron, with an upcycled teak frame beneath, this console table is a real piece of history repurposed into everyday furniture. Sourced in Rajasthan, India, the door panel carries beautifully carved geometric and architectural patterns, once part of a home or building's original entryway, now given a new life as the hinged lid of this piece. Iron studs and rivets are dotted across the surface, remnants of the door's original hardware and construction, adding texture and an authentic, well-worn character you simply can't recreate.

The lid lifts open to reveal handy storage space beneath, making this as practical as it is beautiful — perfect for tucking away throws, linen, or everyday clutter behind a piece that looks like a work of art on top.

Why a console table works so hard in a home:
Consoles are one of the most versatile pieces of furniture you can own. In an entryway or hallway, they're the perfect spot for keys, mail, and a lamp, while doubling as the first thing guests see when they walk in — making a real style statement from the moment they enter. Behind a sofa, a console adds a surface for lamps, books, or styled decor without eating into floor space. In a dining or living room, it works beautifully as a sideboard for serving, storage, or displaying favourite objects. With the added lift-lid storage, this piece goes a step further, doubling as a practical trunk in disguise.

A note on teak:
Teak is prized for its durability and natural resistance to moisture, insects, and warping — an excellent choice for a substantial piece with genuine age and history, built to be lived with for years to come.

Care instructions:
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth to keep clean. Avoid placing in direct sun or damp areas, and apply a little teak or furniture oil occasionally to nourish the wood and help maintain its rich, aged colour. The iron studs may develop a natural patina over time — this is part of the piece's character and needs no special treatment, though a dry cloth wipe will keep them free of dust.

  • Dimensions:  1250L x 870H x 420D
  • Made from a vintage iron & teak door and upcycled teak frame
  • Sourced in Rajasthan, India

As this piece is made from a genuine vintage teak door, slight variations in carving, colour, and iron detailing are part of its charm — no two consoles are alike.
