marble scallop bowl
This is such a pretty piece! As a lovely bowl for nuts and biscuits, a gorgeous soap dish, maybe a dish to be left outside or even, heaven forbid, an ashtray, these little scallop bowls are the duck's nuts. We've even seen these used to served a whole range of food in restuarants - so their uses are many!
Marble is used extensively around India and, in particular, around Rajasthan – the large state in the north of the country where marble artisans have been carving this versatile, beautiful stone for generations. Used by all levels of society, Indian marble is tough and can cope easily with being left outside in the weather or molly-coddled inside!
Please note: marble is a natural stone with variations and marks throughout. The images may vary from the product supplied. This is to be expected and appreciated as a sign of being a natural, unique product, not mass produced.
