Our new suzanis are hand embroidered in chain stitch from Barmer, India.  We love the fact that we are supporting women who are using traditional techniques handed down through the ages to make gorgeous textiles to treasure and appreciate for our homes.

A suzani is a hand-embroidered, decorative textile traditionally made in Central Asia, particularly Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Afghanistan, but also India. These large textile panels were made by nomadic tribes and were an integral part of their nomadic lifestyle.---

Suzanis were primarily used as a protective wrapping panels in yurts and mud floored cottages. The name suzani is derived from the Persian word suzan, which translates to needle.

  • dimensions: Pale olive, cream on cream & grey on cream approx 150x220; dark olive on cream is approx 150 x 200
  • 100% cotton embroidery on cotton khadi 
  • hand embroidered in chain stitch
  • made in Rajasthan, India
  • dry clean preferably, especially the ones with the dark grey embroidery.  If you insist in machine washing, use gentle detergents and a gentle cycle.

We ship Australia wide and use Australia Post Parcel, unless Express Post shipping has been selected. Please allow 2–3 working days for delivery to metropolitan areas for orders placed within business hours. For regional locations, WA and sale orders, please allow up to 3–10 working days.

If you have selected Express Post shipping, assuming your address lies within the Express Post network and you have purchased within business hours (see below), Express Post orders will arrive in 1–2 business days.
