It’s best enjoyed as a decorative piece, so use it with discretion! It’ll look the part on a trunk, cupboard or box, but it may not going to keep dedicated thieves at bay, so save your valuables for something sturdier. On a shelf or desk, it makes a quirky talking point, and it’s a great gift for anyone who loves something a bit different.

Care
Dust with a soft, dry cloth, using a soft brush to get into the engraved scales. Keep it away from moisture to protect the brass and the steel shackle, and avoid abrasive cleaners or scourers. If you’d like more shine, use a gentle brass polish sparingly and buff with a clean cloth. A drop of light oil in the keyhole now and then will keep the lock turning smoothly.
