Pearls and jade, two of the world’s most treasured gems, together on one gorgeous strand! This necklace features large freshwater baroque pearls and very good-quality natural jade beads. They’re hand-knotted on green silk, with five jade beads between each pearl. It was designed by Merchant Campbell, made locally, and is exclusive to our range.
Baroque pearls are pearls with an irregular, organic shape, so each one has its own curves, character and lustre. We hand-picked these good-quality freshwater pearls in person in Lombok, Indonesia, through trusted contacts we've built up over years of travelling and sourcing. For centuries, pearls have been treasured as symbols of wisdom, purity and calm, and they have long been linked with the moon and the gentle pull of the sea.
The 6mm natural jade beads were also sourced in person, this time through our contacts in Bangkok. Jade has been prized across Asia for thousands of years and is traditionally known as a stone of harmony, good fortune and protection. It’s also said to bring prosperity and long life. Paired with pearls, it creates a soft, serene combination with a beautiful sense of balance.
Each bead is individually knotted on green silk. This traditional technique keeps the beads from rubbing against each other and helps protect them, and it also gives the necklace a lovely, fluid drape.
Two lengths, or one long piece
Choose the 42cm length for a classic necklace that sits neatly at the collarbone, or the 70cm length for a longer strand that’s lovely worn on its own or layered. Better still, buy both wear together or and join them together to make one long piece of about 112cm. You can wrap it, layer it or let it swing loose for real impact.

Care
Pearls love to be worn, but they’re delicate, so put your necklace on last and take it off first. Apply perfume, hairspray and lotions beforehand, and remove it before swimming, showering or exercising. Keep the silk dry, as water can weaken and stretch it. After wearing, wipe the necklace gently with a soft, dry cloth. Store it flat, rather than hanging, in a soft pouch or box, away from other jewellery. As with all knotted silk, it may need restringing after years of wear, which is a sign it’s been well loved!
