Keep your pot of tea warm for so much longer with one of Merchant Campbell's ever so pretty, hand-embroidered and very special tea cosies. Our beautiful hand-stitched crewelwork tea cosies from Kashmir have centuries of tradition and skill behind them. Available in two colour-ways, your morning cuppa or afternoon tea pick-me-up will be just that bit more beautiful with one of these on your teapot.
Embroidered mostly by men, these cosies reflect the patterns and traditions of this magical part of the world. Each pattern, which was exclusively designed for Merchant Campbell, is block-printed onto the fabric, using specially made and designed wooden block prints for crewelwork. The silk crewelwork is then stitched by artisans. The people who stitch these beautiful patterns are often seen as deep thinkers, the wise people of the community, and it's not uncommon for villagers to drop in and sit with them, seeking their advice and thoughts on tricky subjects.
Merchant Campbell loves to support these artisans whose livelihoods are affected by the continuing troubles in Kashmir.
